Awareness

The best way to prevent a pest issue from starting is to eliminate as many harboring conditions as possible including excessive moisture, food sources, clutter, keep property well maintained and issues that may attract pests.

Gutters & Drainage

Keeping gutters cleaned out, having down spouts drain water away from the structure and reducing collecting water is critical in pest prevention.  Water trapped in a gutter not draining properly will provide breeding sites for mosquitoes and other insects plus provide a drinking water source for wildlife animals.
Remember that any type of standing water in buckets, flower pots, wheelbarrows, puddles in the yard will harbor mosquitoes and gnats that bite causing extreme health issues to your family including pets.

Grass, Leaves & Overgrowth

Keep grass no taller than 4 inches including using a weed eater to cut grass to prevent mice, rats, snakes and wildlife animals from harboring or being attracted to your property.
Piled up grass after a yard finally got cut and excessive leaves on the ground will create issues. Rake the piled up grass and dispose of it to reduce issues with pest.

Keep all shrubs and tree limbs cut at least 3 feet from touching a structure to reduce wildlife animals from using a tree limb or tall vegetation as a bridge onto the structure.

Excessive Clutter

Going on 20 years in the pest control business, we have seen it all.  Excessive Clutter on the interior and exterior of a structure will create a wide range of issues that can affect your family and pets health.

Remove all excessive clutter, clean, mop, dust and maintain your property to prevent issues.

The Dangers of Using Baits

rodenticides.jpg

We encourage you NOT to use any type of rodent bait due to the accidental poisoning of children, pets and wildlife animals.  These baits come in all shapes, sizes and colors that resemble candy making it attractive.  Rodent baits are made from a blood thinner ingredient or a high level of Vitamin D3 designed to kill anything that ingests the bait.

Secondary poisoning occurs when a cat or bird eats the rodent that consumed the poisonous bait causing illness or death.

Even when these rodent baits are placed inside a tamper proof bait station, the bait can become dislodged from the station or a rodent can take a piece of bait with them, drop it or hide it for future consumption causing the bait to be exposed to children, pets and wildlife.

The only rodent bait we recommend to use is
Rat-X  made from sodium (salt) designed to dehydrate mice and rats (will not harm or kill any other rodent, animal or people) humanly which has no secondary poisoning properties.

Other baits used to kill snails, slugs, birds, moles, voles, chip monks and other wildlife animals are also extremely dangerous to use.  Many fertilizers and weed control products can be dangerous as well used on plants, gardens and lawns exposing toxins that humans, pets and wildlife animals may come in contact with.  Please consider NOT using these products or at least ready the labels to determine how dangerous these products can be towards humans, pets, wildlife animals and our environment.
